Quality Engineers interact with Suppliers. They need to interpret requirements and provide these to suppliers. Quality Engineers focus on attaining root cause corrective action from their suppliers.

Quality Engineers interact with Customers. When customers encounter product problems, these complaints are sent to Quality Assurance. The quality engineer uses 8D principles to resolve the issue.

Quality Engineers set up product and process inspection. For inspection needs, they determine sample sizes. They write procedures that include selecting and apply the correct measuring tool.
