Why shouldn't we use quality Gains or(Quality Added Revenues) instead of such a confusing Quality Cost?
In my opinion, any Quality project should be Appraised and then be approved based on a Cost/Benefit Analysis where on one hand we account for all costs incurred and on the other hand sum all accrued returns to all costs saved due to the quality project.
Such quality projects may arise due to technical reasons associated to the nature of products, safety and regulatory requirements, due to market competition or purely financial for increasing net revenues.
As proponents of quality philosophy we expect properly formulated quality projects be the most effective and efficient alternative solution to any situations an organization faces.
