Hi everyone, I have been working as QA engineer for a few years now, but recently I have received a request that made me wonder if this falls under QA job description.
The software I am working on integrates with other systems like email etc. For each new client that integration is established, and the client is walked through the workflow. Since we are a startup, it’s not unusual that we take on mostly any task that needs work. So new client system and setup has been taken on by the product manager. Since that takes up a significant amount of time for them, I have been asked to take over that, with explanation that it falls under integration testing.
I would argue that integration testing is performed during the development phase, for new features, but I was wondering if it actually makes sense that QA takes on this job and “tests” if the initial setup for new clients works as expected.
Thanks in advance.
