The Responsibility chart is a simple tool that you can use to make sure that everyone is clear about roles and responsibilities. It works well within teams, between teams, for strategic management and for project management settings. Responsibility chartings will also help you clarify any confusion, assumptions and misunderstandings about "who does what". It also makes sure that someone is responsible for each task, can identify who needs to be given communication about each task, and prevent duplication of effort.
